Awards

SITE recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of individuals, organizations and communities for service, teaching and research. The best in information technology in teacher education is exemplified by the award winners' commitment to their profession and society.

SITE Conference Best Paper Awards*

Biannually, the conference's most outstanding papers are proposed by SITE's committees to the President for an award. The President reviews the nominated papers and makes the final selection.

SITE Poster Demos, also prestigious presentations due to the nature of our work and scholarship, are judged during the conference by a group led by SITE's Academic Coordinator, with the final selection made by the President.

National Technology Leadership Initiative (NTLI) Fellowships

The US National Technology Leadership Initiative (NTLI) fellowships were established to recognize exemplary presentations related to integration of technology in the core content areas at the annual meetings of each participating association. This initiative is led by Glen Bull, editor-in-chief of SITE’s online CITE Journal.

SITE Service Award

The "SITE Award for Outstanding Service" recognizes outstanding service to SITE, its members institutions and members. The award is given from time to time, not more than once per year, to someone who is a member in good standing with SITE for several years, who has served in numerous organizational capacities, giving tirelessly and seeking solutions and improvements that advance the organization. The awardee has made important contributions to the society, to its base of knowledge, and its professional standing among associations and is a model member who leads by example. Her (or his) service continues to postiively impact others.

SITE Outstanding Global Educator Awards

The SITE Outstanding Global Educator Award recognizes outstanding global teacher educators for their global leadership in information technology and teacher education. Award winners have gone beyond service to digital equity recognized in the OSDE to provide leadership that is sensitive to local and global issues encompassing all facets of teacher education: service, teaching and research.

SITE Award for Outstanding Service to Digital Equity

The Outstanding Service in Digital Equity Award (OSDE) recognizes and encourages outstanding scholarship and service in the area of digital equity and increase awareness of successful approaches taken through teacher education for increasing equity over the many digital divides that affect our societies today—economic, cultural, physical and mental.

SITE Lifetime Achievement Awards

SITE makes occasional awards to outstanding individuals for their lifetime service and impact on information technology and teacher education.
