Biographical Information:
Dr. Gerald Knezek is a 13-year veteran of SITE conferences, publications, and collaborative activities, dating back to the days when SITE was named STATE. You will find 41 SITE citations for ‘Knezek, Gerald’ if you search the SITE/AACE digital library, http://www.EdITLib.org.
For the past three years Dr. Knezek, together with Associate Chair Dr. Rhonda Christensen, have headed the SITE Evaluation and Research Committee. Notable activities during their term have included presentations at two Technology Leadership Initiative Fall Summits; guest editing a special edition of Computers in the Schools; and outreach to two groups perceived to have the potential to bring new blood into the SITE organization: NSF Information Technology Experiences for Students and Teachers ITEST), and the International Handbook of Information Technology in Primary & Secondary Education.
Dr. Knezek received his bachelor’s degree in 1974 from Dartmouth College. He received a masters degree from the University of Hawaii in 1976 and completed his PhD there in 1978. He was a Fulbright Scholar (Japan) in 1993-94 and a Fulbright Senior Specialist (Ecuador) in 2006-07. He is currently Professor of Learning Technologies at the University of North Texas. He begins a three-year term as President of SITE at SITE 2008 in Las Vegas.
