Abstract:
During the lasts years, by the integration of computer technologies in education, storytelling enhanced its popularity in digital world. Digital storytelling is known as combining the art of telling stories with digital graphics, text, recorded audio narration, video and music to present information on a specific topic. This research study was designed to evaluate the effectiveness of digital storytelling and it was explored if it has an improving effect on 6 year-old early childhood students’ understanding. The digital story was prepared for pre-school students to facilitate their on-class discussion while learning about the selected subject. Data was gathered through classroom observations, teacher interviews and assessment of students’ drawings. As the results of the study, it was explored students had a good understanding of the subject that was given on the digital story and teachers agreed on digital stories are powerful tools to implement in their classrooms.
