Abstract:
This communication aims to present the results of the third year of an online homework assistance project. 128 students attending the after school daycares of eight urban elementary schools participated in the research project during the 2007-2008 school year. The research aimed to understand what was the impact of the project on the students’ motivation and autonomy to complete their homework and on their ability to use technology. Data was collected through questionnaires and phone interviews. Date was analyzed by conducting analysis of variance and using a content analysis procedure. In general, the qualitative results have shown that the project was greatly appreciated by the students, their parents and the school staffs involved. The quantitative results have shown an increase in some students’ motivation and autonomy to complete homework and in all the students’ ability to use the technology.
