For the past two years, the U.S. Congress has funded research through the National Writing Project (NWP) on effective methods of integrating newer technologies into best practices in English language arts/literacy education. Five NWP sites (New York City WP, Alaska WP, Bay Area [CA] WP, West Virginia WP, and my own Red Cedar [Michigan State University] WP) have served as “lead sites.”
Those interested in the work can get a sense of it by visiting Paul Allison’s (NYCWP) TEACHERS TEACHING TEACHERS: Skyping, Webcasting, Podcasting and Blogging By and For Teachers. In the most recent exchange, one of the teachers with whom I am working most closely, Troy Hicks, ponders why teachers sometimes resist change.
Paul also draws our attention to the new issue of FUTURIST article, To Fix Education, Think Web 2.0.
Good to be back in the SITE fold!
