Arts & Interdisciplinary Education SIG

Formed in 2007, SITE's Arts & Interdisciplinary Education SIG addresses the role of teachers using interactive media in interdisciplinary and/or arts classes. The SIG will make a contribution to integrate creative approaches of digital media art in the education of teachers.

Teachers of all subjects who want to cooperate in project orientated forms of teaching are welcomed in the SIG. Especially art teachers, open for the creative use of digital technology, are perfect to be mediators for interdisciplinary teaching approaches. As experts in multimodal and multicodal learning and experts in reflecting the societal phenomena at large, they are especially suited as mediators to encourage teaching in multidisciplinary teams of teachers.

Whether to teach teachers and students to create mobile learning games with web 2.0 technologies, i.E. Web Moles for learning with mobile phones on field trips, or teach to create other digital augmented multimodal learning spaces, where artistic as well as any skills can be taught in, will be discussed within the SIG.
