SITE’s Arts & Interdisciplinary Education SIG addresses the role of teachers using interactive media in interdisciplinary and/or arts classes. The SIG will make a contribution to integrate creative approaches of digital media in the education of teachers.
All people interested, but especially teacher educators and teachers of all subjects who want to cooperate in project orientated forms of teaching or in collaborative research, are welcomed in the SIG. Especially art teachers, open for the creative use of digital technology, who are perfect to be mediators for interdisciplinary teaching approaches. As experts in multi modal and multi codal learning and experts in reflecting the societal phenomena at large, they are especially suited as mediators to encourage teaching in multidisciplinary teams of teachers with digital technology.
The use of digital augmented multi modal learning spaces, where artistic as well as any skills can be taught in, i.e. hyper linked video, mobile learning approaches with web based technologies, interactive web based presentations on multi touch screens, etc., will be discussed within the SIG.
