The New Possibilities with Information Technologies SIG goal is to focus the SIG’s direction in the exploration of new forms of technology, new applications of technology, and new conversations about the role of technology in education. The organization is exploring ways to facilitate the diffusion of information about the emerging technology in the field. This includes innovative methods of research, ingenious methods to report that research, and creative utilization of technology to promote discussion.

To achieve these goals, the SIG proposes to do the following:

  • Create a blog to facilitate the conversation about emerging educational technology
  • Sponsor round table discussions with hands-on demonstrations of emerging technology at the SITE conference
  • Create a panel about new possibilities for schools at the SITE conference
  • Establish research collaborative activities across institutions
  • Establish a wiki on emerging technology
  • Explore the possibility of a special issue in one of the SITE journals on emerging technology
  • Explore the possibility of developing a journal for emerging technology

SITE  2023 will be held in New Orleans, Louisiana March 13-17.  More Info>
