Co-Chair – Danielle Brown

EditLib-Book Only-Smallx50Social Studies Teacher Education Papers in LearnTechLib (13,000+)

The Social Studies Teacher Education SIG is focused on issues related to using technology in social studies. Through SITE and our online community, our SIG aims to support and highlighting innovative examples of practice and research in social studies and technology, while also encouraging collaboration around these exemplars. A wide range of technologies are influencing social studies, and the Social Studies TE SIG wants to help teachers and teacher educators engage in conversations about how we are using these technologies in authentic contexts. We are interested in examining technologies facilitating all sorts of creative approaches to social studies such as digital history, geospatial software, video game simulations, massive multiplayer online world, and online civic participations, just to name a few.

Join your social studies colleagues in Social Studies Teacher Education SIG to talk about innovative approaches to teaching and learning in social studies!

SITE  2026 will be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania March 23-27.  More Info>
