.. since we were in San Antonio for the Conference. Things have been busy here in the east at Hartwick College, with the Spring semester rolling along. As far as faculty development have gone, it’s been mostly that “just in time” assistance that we all seem to get. Things are gearing up for final exams, and I’m personally working on a campus wide proposal to roll the departmental labs, which are not under any sort of direction or maintenance at the moment, into one functioning unit. Long range planning is needed to keep the areas working, updated and faculty trained.
Which brings me to the issue of faculty involvement in their own technology training. How can we get the faculty enthused about attending workshops, seminars, or other training sessions, rather than waiting until the last minute to try and figure something out? What’s worked well for you?
