Mission Statement: The Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education (SITE) is an international, academic association of teacher educators, researchers, practitioners and collaborating organizations across multiple disciplines. SITE members create and disseminate knowledge enhancing teacher education through the use of technology with an emphasis on diverse, equitable, and inclusive engagement. SITE promotes membership activities that focus on research, scholarship, innovation, and advocacy intended to enhance technology and teacher education.
SITE–Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education promotes the development and dissemination of theoretical knowledge, conceptual research, and professional practice knowledge through the SITE conference, books, collaborative projects with other organizations, and the Journal of Technology and Teacher Education.
SITE (founded in 1990) is a society of AACE–Association for the Advancement of Computing in Education. AACE (founded in 1981) is an international, educational, and professional organization dedicated to the advancement of the knowledge, theory and quality of learning and teaching at all levels with information technology.
The Society for Information Technology and Teacher Education is an international association of individual teacher educators, and affiliated organizations of teacher educators in all disciplines, who are interested in the creation and dissemination of knowledge about the use of information technology in teacher education and faculty/staff development.
The Society seeks to promote research, scholarship, collaboration, exchange, and support among its membership, and to actively foster the development of new national organizations where a need emerges. SITE is the only organization that has as its sole focus the integration of instructional technologies into teacher education programs.

Journal of Technology and Teacher Education (JTATE)
SITE’s highly ranked JTATE journal serves as a forum for the exchange of knowledge about the use of information technology in teacher education. JTATE covers:

Contemporary Issues in Technology and Teacher Education (CITE)
The CITE Journal is SITE’s online multimedia, interactive counterpart to JTATE. CITE is a collaboration between five teacher educator professional associations in the content areas of: Mathematics, Science, English Language Arts, Social Studies, and Instructional Technology. It focuses on current issues and practices, with accompanying editorials and seminal articles.
Research Highlights in Technology and Teacher Education
This annual book serves as a scholarly resource and record of the current state of research in this essential field of study and practice.
Collections in this series present a growing body of research, highlighted with contemporary trends and issues, creative methods, innovative ideas, theory and practice-based models, and effective use of traditional as well as new tools in the field of information technology and teacher education.
Papers from the SITE Conference which have been submitted as book candidates and are accepted for presentation then undergo a rigorous second review. Accepted papers are published as book chapters for the annual issue.
Journal of Online Learning Research
The Journal of Online Learning Research (JOLR) is a peer-reviewed, international journal devoted to the theoretical, empirical, and pragmatic understanding of technologies and their impact on primary and secondary pedagogy and policy in primary and secondary (K-12) online and blended environments.

SITE’s community of editors, researchers, SIG chairs, and conference attendees have collaborated many times over the years to produce special edition books and journal issues. These publications are often in response to trends in the field or subjects that affect us and education on a global scale, such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
