Science Education NTLI Winner

Filed Under: Science Ed., Teacher Ed Council March 19, 2007 By David Slykhuis

Hello!  I am David Slykhuis, as John Park mentioned in an early post I am the new Chair of the Science Education SIG here at SITE.  One of the first things that I am happy to do is to present the winner of this years NTLI (National Technology Leadership Initiative) Award from ASTE (Association of Science Teacher Educators):  Rebecca Schneider of the University of Toledo.

Each year at the ASTE Meeting….

One paper presentation is selected as the NTLI award winner.  This award recognizes an exemplary paper related to technology in science teacher preparation and provides funding to present the paper in an invited session at the annual meeting of SITE.  The NTLI award is sponsored by Vernier Software and Technology, and provides up to $1000 toward conference travel and lodging expenses.  SITE provides one complementary conference registration and an award luncheon.

Rebecca Schnieder of the University of Toledo was the recipient of this years award for her paper presentation “Examining the Instructional Design of a Technology Enhanced Course for New Mentor Teachers”.

Congratulations to Rebecca and I invite you to come and see her presentation in San Antonio, TX at the SITE Conference.  Rebecca will be presenting at 9:30 am on Thursday, March 29, 2007 in Texas Ballroom C.

SITE  2024 will be held in Las Vegas, Nevada, March 25-29.  More Info>
