Artificial Intelligence SIG

Co-Chair – Rashmi Khazanchi
Co-Chair – Melissa Warr

EditLib-Book Only-Smallx50Artificial Intelligence Papers in LearnTechLib (4400+)

Representing the broad SITE community, the Generative AI SIG is committed to providing a venue for disseminating knowledge, ideas, and best practices to further generative AI research and development as powerful tools for learning. For many, generative AI can provide powerful personalized learning experiences for students and educators. Yet, for many, generative AI tools represent a problematic duality–viewed by some as powerful management tools and condemned (even banned) by others as tools that can disrupt learning (e.g., cheating).
As SITE is a community of researchers, academics, and practitioners, the Generative AI SIG will provide a space for its members to
  • Share the trends, research, and best practices to enhance the productive use of generative AI for P-12 learners and in teacher education.
  • Articulate models and practices that demonstrate how generative AI can be effectively integrated into teacher education programs.
  • Develop and maintain means to communicate SIG activities and disseminate its mission to the larger SITE community and beyond.
  • Communicate with other SIGs and SITE leadership to explore ways to organize activities, such as panel discussions, symposiums, and webinars.
  • Actively suggest keynote speakers, invited panels, and so on for the annual and Interactive SITE conferences.
  • Examine opportunities for research and grant activities in the area of Generative AI and teacher education.
  • Explore publishing opportunities, including a possible journal on AI in Teacher Education

SITE  2026 will be held in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania March 23-27.  More Info>
